CHRIST IS RISEN! This Easter greeting is extended by the St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Choir of Vancouver, B.C., under the direction of William Smigel, B.Mus.
This album features selections from the Easter Liturgy as well as traditional Easter folk songs — "Hahilky." Side one has several compositions of the traditional hymn "Xpuctoc Bockpec" which Is sung at every church service during the Easter season.
Side two has a delightful selection of "Hahilky" — "Nature spring songs" — which lend themselves to simple, interpretive dancing.
Young and old Join hands — form circles and chains in easy formations and gaily dance to the many versed "Hahilky." The front cover depicts a "wedding ring" which encircles a young betrothed couple.
